II. Characteristics of ESI-Indexed Papers
2026-01-14
1. Papers must be published in a journal classified under a specific ESI subject category to contribute to that discipline.
2. The number of author affiliations does not affect the paper's contribution to each institution. Each paper contributes equally to all listed affiliations, regardless of the total number.
3. The number and order of authors do not affect the paper's contribution to each institution or individual. All authors share the paper's impact equally, irrespective of authorship count or sequence.
4. A paper's influence is primarily measured by its total citation count, with no distinction made between self-citations and citations by others.
5. Only two document types are considered: Articles and Reviews.
