ChemSpider, acquired in 2009 by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), is a free online search service designed for chemists, researchers, and professionals to access chemical structure–related information.

As a free chemical structure database, ChemSpider provides a wealth of chemical information resources, integrating over 26 million chemical structures with related data. Search options include systematic names, synonyms, trade names, registry numbers, SMILES, and InChI, among others.

Objectives of ChemSpider:

1. Aggregate and provide online compound data.

2. Improve the quality of publicly available chemical data resources.

3. Offer a publishing platform for data and research outputs.

4. Ensure data reusability.

5. Integrate chemical data with publications.
