edX is a massive open online course platform jointly established by MIT and Harvard University in April 2012. edX offers courses covering various fields such as art and culture, biology and life sciences, chemistry, computer science, economics and finance, environmental studies, health and safety, history, language, mathematics, medicine, music, philosophy, physics, etc. It also provides honorary certifications, signature certifications and X-series certifications as course completion certificates. As of September 2023, edX offers over 4,300 online courses and has partnerships with more than 250 universities and institutions, including Harvard University, MIT, Oxford University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and other renowned universities both at home and abroad.
