HighWire Press is the world's largest academic literature publisher that provides free full-text access. It was founded in 1995 by the Stanford University Library in the United States. Initially, it only published the renowned weekly journal "Journal of Biological Chemistry". Currently, it has over 710 electronic journals, with a total of more than 2.3 million articles, among which over 770,000 articles can be accessed with full text. These figures are still increasing. Through this interface, one can also search over 12 million articles from 4,500 journals included in Medline, and view the abstracts. The journals included in HighWire Press cover the following disciplines: life sciences, medicine, physics, and social sciences. Some full texts are available for free (not all).
