ClinicalTrials.gov is a clinical trials database developed in 1997 by the US National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), officially launched in February 2002.
It serves two main purposes:
1. To provide patients, healthcare professionals, and the public with access to information about clinical trials.
2. To offer clinical trial registration services for medical researchers and institutions.
As one of the world’s most important clinical trial registries, ClinicalTrials.gov offers free trial registration and search services. It is widely recognized as a model of transparent and international clinical trial registration.
