The cicadas chirp persistently, and this is precisely the perfect time for quiet reading. During the summer vacation, from 8:00 to 22:00 daily, the main campus library provides uninterrupted, comprehensive, and continuous open services, offering a cool and tranquil shade of knowledge for faculty and students to advance their research and academic pursuits.

　　During the 36-day vacation, all routine library services operated in an orderly manner, covering core businesses such as sci-tech novelty retrieval, citation retrieval and verification, resource acquisition and processing, and reading promotion. Statistics show that during the vacation, a total of 40 sci-tech novelty searches, 9 patent novelty searches, 858 citation retrievals and verifications, 53 thesis plagiarism checks, and 226 document deliveries were completed, while continuous tracking of ESI discipline development trends and SCI paper publication trends was maintained. A total of 40,959 visitors entered the library, with a daily average of 1,138; 1,204 books were borrowed and returned; individual study pods were reserved and used by 1,483 people, totaling 5,015 hours; 79 library cards and alumni cards were processed; 1,220 people used self-service copying and printing, totaling 8,539 pages. Resource development advanced in tandem: 675 books were received and cataloged, orders for 471 new book titles were placed, 70 purchase recommendation records were processed, and procurement of 38 Chinese and foreign language databases was advanced.

　　The library environment and facilities were also upgraded and renewed during the vacation: the main campus library completed lighting renovation across all areas, unified cleaning of floors and sofas, and comprehensive renewal of seat numbers and label stickers; the computer systems and programs in the electronic reading area were also upgraded simultaneously.

　　Meanwhile, the school history museum received 7 groups of visitors of various levels and types, totaling 450 people, including visitors from the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Zhujiang Hospital, alumni from the classes of 1991 and 2001, and 2026 eight-year clinical medicine program students (Westlake University).

　　The library stayed open without interruption, and services continued without pause. The smooth operation of all reader services depended on the dedication and hard work of all library staff. Under the leadership of library administrators, each staff member was on duty for at least 8 days, faithfully fulfilling their responsibilities to ensure no gaps in holiday services. In the new semester, the library will continue to solidly carry out all document and information resource guarantee work, contributing to the university's high-quality development.
