Library successfully held the kick-off event of the 19th Publicity and Promotion Month

Drizzle falls, but the fragrance of books remains undimmed. On April 23, 2026, the 31st "World Book Day", the launch of the 19th Promotion and Extension Month, themed "Red Reading Navigates, Wisdom Starts New Journey", officially kicked off at both campuses of the library.
The six major themed activities mainly include "You Choose the Book, I Pay for It", "Book Sea Adventure", "Red Empowerment · Smart Quiz", "Learn at Nanfang Library, Easily Get the Initiative in Research", "Reader's Wish Wall", and the recognition of excellent library volunteers, excellent assistants, and excellent guides of the university history museum. The aim is to promote library resources, enhance students' information literacy, and create a strong campus reading atmosphere through diverse forms. A series of projects combining knowledge, fun, and interactivity attracted many teachers and students to actively participate, creating a lively atmosphere at the event site.

“You Choose the Book, I Pay for It”: Making Readers Participants in Collection Building
To facilitate readers in selecting their favorite books on site and borrowing them immediately, our library specially invited book suppliers to hold an on-site book fair on campus. At the same time, a 6.6% discount on book purchases was offered to readers. As a traditional retained activity, it receives positive responses from readers every year. The booths were crowded with teachers and students selecting books and consulting, which not only effectively optimizes the library's collection but also meets the diverse reading needs of readers.

“Book Sea Adventure”: Unlocking the Joy of Reading through Games
The "Book Sea Adventure: Grid Exploration Reading Challenge" activity draws on the "Monopoly" game model, incorporating a quiz mechanism. It was one of the most highly participated activities on site. Students rolled dice, moved across grids, and answered fun reading-related questions, experiencing the charm of reading in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere while winning exclusive rewards for Reading Month.

“Red Empowerment · Smart Quiz”: Learning through Questions, Educating through Fun
Focusing on Party history knowledge, electronic resource utilization, and literature retrieval skills, the library set up the interactive game "Red Empowerment · Smart Quiz". Participants drew cards to answer questions and exchanged correct answers for corresponding prizes. The activity not only showcased the participants' knowledge reserves but also effectively popularized red culture and information literacy knowledge.

“Learn at Nanfang Library”: Supporting Research Start, Making Services Accessible
At the "Learn at Nanfang Library, Easily Get the Initiative in Research" booth, librarians introduced the library's print and electronic resources, various service contents, and distributed resource promotional flyers. This activity helps bridge the distance between the library and readers, making research support services more visible, tangible, and accessible.

“Reader's Wish Wall”: Write Down Your Voice
A special "Reader's Wish Wall" was set up at the event, inviting teachers and students to write down their suggestions for library services, reading wishes, or reflections on reading. The wish wall was soon covered with colorful sticky notes, bearing both warm expectations and constructive suggestions. The library will carefully review these contents as an important reference for optimizing future services, ensuring that readers' wishes are responded to.

Thank You for Being There: Awards for Outstanding Student Assistants and Volunteers
Every semester, over 200 student librarians participate in book collection management, book processing, university history museum tours, and reader consultation. Student librarians have become an indispensable auxiliary force for the library to provide quality services to readers. On the launch day, the library collectively recognized outstanding library volunteers, excellent student assistants, and excellent guides of the university history museum for the year, thanking the student librarians for their continuous support, dedication, and assistance to the library and university history museum.

Over the next month, the 19th Promotion and Extension Month officially begins.
