University's 2025 Electronic Resources Procurement Plan Approved
On January 3rd, the University Library and Information Committee meeting, along with the 2025 Library Resources Procurement Review session, was held. The 2025 electronic resources procurement plan received high recognition from experts and was approved by vote at the meeting. Vice President Liu Shuwen presided over the session, which was attended by 15 experts from university administrative departments, various schools, and affiliated hospitals, as well as two postgraduate student representatives.

Library Director Gu Ping delivered a detailed report covering AI and smart library initiatives in 2024, resource development and reference services, utilization of print and electronic resources, key measures implemented, and major challenges faced. Furthermore, considering the needs of university discipline development, medical education and research advancement, expert and user demands, and cost-benefit analysis of resources, the 2025 electronic resources procurement plan was proposed.
The attending experts fully affirmed the library's work in resource development and expansion, service innovation, and promotional efforts. They also provided input on the demand for specific professional resources and services. Following thorough discussion, a vote was conducted.
Liu Shuwen announced the voting results on the spot: the 2025 electronic resources procurement plan received high recognition from experts and was approved. Liu Shuwen acknowledged the library's work and achievements, putting forward three expectations: resource development should closely align with the university's teaching reforms and talent cultivation, discipline development and scientific research innovation, and medical service and research development needs, thereby improving the relevance and effectiveness of resource procurement, avoiding duplication and waste, and continuously enhancing resource quality and efficiency; emphasis should be placed on utilizing artificial intelligence and new-generation information technology to elevate library service management, driving the library toward continuous development in intelligent, digital, and networked knowledge services; it is hoped that the library can broaden its professional perspective and framework, actively participate in the university's educational transformation, and with forward-thinking, develop new academic information service models empowered by digital transformation and "AI+".
