Fingertip Greenery, Blossoming Elegance — Library Hosts DIY Micro-Landscape Activity with Succulent Plants for Staff on Women's Day

A warm breeze brushed against faces, carrying the vibrant breath of spring. On the afternoon of March 7th, to celebrate the 115th International Women's Day, a DIY micro-landscape activity with succulent plants themed "Fingertip Greenery, Blossoming Elegance" was held in the demonstration classroom on the sixth floor of the main campus library.

The venue was arranged with a warm and elegant ambiance, complete with decorations, greenery, tools, and colorful floral materials. The gardening instructor first explained the care knowledge for succulent plants and design techniques for micro-landscapes, guiding everyone from material selection and color matching to layout, allowing them to experience the creative joy of "finding a world within a tiny space." Subsequently, the female librarians transformed into "garden designers," carefully selecting and arranging different succulent varieties, pouring their creativity into their fingertips. With every scoop of soil and every placement, "mini succulent gardens" gradually took shape — some fresh and minimalist, others playful and childlike, and some full of poetic charm, each piece carrying a love for life and an understanding of beauty. During the activity, participants exchanged design inspirations and shared planting tips, while some male colleagues cheered them on, filling the venue with continuous laughter and joy. At the same time, Director Gu Ping made a promise with everyone for an April gathering, looking forward to the World Book Day event on April 23rd, where they would return to "compete" with their creations and select the best succulent landscape award.

This DIY activity, through creative hands-on experience, allowed everyone to appreciate the beauty of nature and the fun of crafting amidst busy work, providing both healing and stress relief while strengthening bonds among colleagues. Additionally, the staff deeply felt the warmth and humanistic care of the collective, which will inspire them to engage in their work with greater enthusiasm and provide even better services for all university teachers and students.
