Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), founded in 1841, is Europe's largest global professional body aiming to promote excellence in chemical science. Nowadays, RSC comprises more than 56,000 members from 114 countries and regions in science, academia, knowledge service and industry. As one of the world's leading publishers of chemistry and chemical industry information, its journals and publications have become indispensable tools and important indicators in today’s academia and industry. The institute is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, and has offices in London, Washington, Berlin, Tokyo, Philadelphia, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo and other places. It is currently engaged in publishing, professional conferences, membership services and certification services and promotion in China. The database includes journals, magazines, annual reports, databases and e-books, etc. Some of these journals contain Open Access articles.

At present, the database covers the fields of chemistry and chemical industry, energy and environment, materials, food, physics, life science and so on. In the latest JCR report released in 2017, the average impact factor (IF) of RSC journals reached 6.31. Additionally, periodicals with an impact factor of more than 5.0 exceeded one-third of the total and nearly 70% of journals have gained growth in IF. In 2016, a total of 43 periodicals, 6 databases and nearly 100 e-books were published.

Since 2018, our university has officially introduced the RSC journal full-text database. From now on, our readers can access and download the full text of RSC journals on the campus network.
